Belated Rachel, Inspirational Bert

Rachel, left, at work. Love the sunglasses, love the jacket! Photo by Bravotv.com.

Season 4 of The Rachel Zoe Project was originally scheduled to air tonight at 10PM on Bravo TV. For whatever reason, the start of the new season has been postponed until September 6. Boo-hiss, I need my hit of Rachel! I hope the delay will result in extra episodes.

Thankfully, in the meantime, Project Runway is back and I watched the opening episode last week. So far I am loving Bert Keeter, a 57-year-old designer from Los Angeles who, in his younger days, worked for Bill Blass, Arnold Scaasi, and Halston. Can you imagine what an education that must have been? I loved the dress he designed, made out of what he wore to bed the night before, as the challenge dictated. I also love that he is twice the age of most of the other contestants, proving it is never too late to follow your dream! Go Bert!

Bert, left, talking with Tim Gunn about how he's going to make it work. The dress, partially made out of his orange gingham boxer shorts, is shown in the center. Photo by mylifetime.com.

Project Runway is on Lifetime, Thursdays at 9pm/8c.

Boo-hiss indeed! I can't wait to see Rachel. Did you see her last week on Primetime (or some show like that)? Loved seeing her juggling her sweet baby boy amidst a sea of shoes. And the dynamic between her and Rodger...that is a love that is so inspiring.

I have been missing PR? I love that show. I didn't know it moved to Lifetime - I'll have to look for it and check Bert out.

YES! Team Bert.

How are you feeling about this season's Project Runway? Lots of talent, and I think the obvious cast members (i.e. less talented) will go in the first few rounds as expected... Only one more day! xx

Hi Pam, I will so be watching tonight! I hope Bert's design, no matter the challenge, will be great, although I think he has immunity this week, right?

Hi Vahni, I was so disappointed to know The Rachel Zoe Project is not coming out until next month! I did see that Primetime show you mentioned. Skyler is beautiful, I think he has Rodger's eyes and it was great to see Rachel with him. His designer wardrobe cracked me up. I hope she will donate those clothes to a children's charity when Skyler grows out of them because those duds will definitely be gently worn!

Hi Adrienne, I think you can probably watch that first episode, either on Lifetime or online. You've only missed one, easy to catch up!

Hi Hallie, thanks for stopping by! I'm so glad to have found your blog, entirely due to Twitter! You had me at the collection of gloriously organized and beautiful closets. As for Project Runway, I haven't watched it in so long, but I am really glad to see it again. So far I am a big fan of Bert, obviously, and I also like Anya. Is it possible to learn to sew that well after only four months? Amazing!

Rachel Zoe is not known at all in Austria. I mean, I know her from fashion pages in the internet, but have never seen her talk or move, only paparazzi photos. It is always funny, when you see someone talk and walk after having seen the images on websites for years. It was funny when I saw Heidi Klum talk for the first time! In Europe she did mostly not so high-end modelling (shower-gels for low-budgeet-supermarket-brand and so on) until she started her TV shows.

Is she very thin? I watched her blog on AOL and noticed how skinny she got over the summer. What I noticed too is the difference eye-make-up makes. Without make up she looks like a mole. No fire in her eyes, very blunt face. But with the eye-make-up she has amazing eyes. I need to try this!

So excited there is going to be a 4th season of the Rachel Zoe project! But I don't have a tv so spare a thought for me as I have to wait until it gets onto youtube before I get my Rachel fix!

I watched the PR shows--am loving that and thanks for reminding me about Rachel! Love that show too--altho I wonder why sometimes...

Hi Paula, I would love to know what you thought of Rachel Zoe if you saw her show. It cracks me up, she's so fashion-obsessed, and the clothes and accessories she has access to are amazing. But what really sells me on the show is watching her interact with her husband, Rodger, who is constantly trying to get her to slow down, do less, and, last season, to have a baby. I also like to watch her with her assistants. I know Brad is gone (boo-hiss!), but I love her with Joey, her makeup and hair guy, who is hilarious. A friend of mine thinks Rachel would drive me crazy in real life--RZ has a distinct way of speaking, and an accent that is Short Hills, New Jersey, crossed with California Valley Girl--but I'm not sure that's correct. I'd love to hang out with her for a week to find out!

Hi Veshoevius, I don't have cable so I was really bummed the show got pushed back a month. If it had premiered on Aug. 2, as originally planned, I could've seen the first episode, I was at my parents', where the cable TV is plentiful! I will rewatch Season 3 until Season 4 is out on DVD.

Hi Paula, for me, The Rachel Zoe Project is pure pleasure--no real stress there, no matter what they try to create, and seeing amazing clothes move in real life. I also love when she talks to designers, to get a sense of what their work life is like.
