I know black nail polish is not earth-shattering to most people but it took me a long time to get used to it. I don't know why that is, watching too many Tim Burton movies? Mental pictures of Frankenstein when thinking of black nails? Whatever, it's grown on me over the years, probably helped by a ton of magazine editorials featuring models wearing it and looking not goth, but elegant. This particular polish, Black Satin by Chanel, which I have posted about before, has shimmer in it, but it's only visible in strong light, otherwise it just reads black and gleaming.
