At an Obama fundraiser in Manhattan last week, both Lauren Santo Domingo and Anna Wintour wore bright colors under neutral coats. I shy away from a lot of color in my wardrobe, preferring to use it as an accessory, but these pictures are inspiring me to think about adding a skirt with a pop of color to my closet.

Do you own a brightly colored skirt?

Like you, I shy away from bright colors save for accessories and a very old hot pink trench that's on its last leg. I would love to have a brightly colored pencil skirt in my wardrobe. I think it's a safer bet than a pair of bright pants or jeans with my body shape and age.
What color skirt would you choose, Jill? I like cobalt blue.

I love both of these looks...but I also have to consciously keep my love of color under control..both are great ways to do just that! Now I want a pencil skirt like the first one..looks so chic yet fun!!
Gorgeous! I don't like brights near my face, but like Adrienne I would adore a bright pencil skirt for spring/summer. And bright shoes are always invited : >
I really like both of these looks! I used to shy away from color. My closet was a sea of black and white. But now, I've really come to love color!! It seems to just brighten up a look and I like the boldness of it! Hugs! ~Serene
I generally wear a palette of black with neutral or bright scarves near my face. I recently bought a mustard swing coat (3/4s length) and I picked up an orange Longchamp bag at the airport on my way home from Paris in January... I love these colors, particularly those worn my Anna Wintour.
Nice catching up with you again, Jill!
