Ellie Bamber in Anna Hu Haute Joaillerie at the Met Gala 2016

Ellie Bamber at the Met Gala, May 2, 2016. Photo by Dimitrios Kambouris.

After finding so much of the fashion on the Met Gala red carpet not to my liking on Monday night, it was wonderful to see beautiful pieces of jewelry on the young English actress Ellie Bamber. She was wearing Anna Ha Haute Joaillerie, one of my favorite jewelry designers!

I love the floral embroidery on this Giles Deacon gown. Photo by Larry Busacca.

Ellie was in the recent movie Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, not exactly my kind of film, but I hope she will soon be in something I would see because she is lovely! I really liked what she wore, a silvery-taupe Giles Deacon gown with multi-colored floral embroidery. It worked so well with her red hair and flawless skin. I find it an interesting choice since the dress has an empire waistline and a full skirt. Ellie looked so ethereal, and from another era, modern but through an early 19th-century filter. I loved the juxtaposition, particularly that night when so many other women opted to wear no pants, see-through skirts, or skin tight latex dresses. I think Ellie and her stylist, Dasha Kova, made a great choice on her look!

Anna Hu Butterfly Garden Earrings in Rubellite. I love them!

I am crazy for the magnificent Butterfly Garden Earrings by Anna Hu that Ellie wore. They are made of rubellites, pearls, white diamonds, rubies, yellow diamonds, and pink and yellow fancy sapphires, all set in gold. They are stunning on Ellie and I love that the makeup artist used a shimmering deep pink (and gold) shadow on her eyes, which highlights the color of the rubellites.

Modern Art Deco Ring in Rubellite by Anna Hu. I weep!

Ellie also wore an Anna Hu Modern Art Deco Ring with a nearly 12-carat rubellite surrounded by white diamonds. You can just make it out on her finger in the photo below. Superb!

You can just see the ring in this photo by Larry Busacca.

What gets me every time about Anna’s work is the use of colored gemstones in mixed cuts, colors, and sizes. It is always a thrill to see her jewelry and these pieces on Ellie were especially beautiful!

Let me know what you think of Ellie’s look and Anna’s amazing jewelry!

|I usually am not a fan of matching but her earrings and that eyeshadow just play off each other like nothing else!!! Although that color might not pop on certain skin tones - on her it looks amazing xx

Hi Naomi, I am so with you on this--I don't normally like matching, but I just love that eyeshadow on Ellie along with those earrings. Especially with her gorgeous red hair! I could never pull off that shade of pink but on Ellie it is just divine. xx

Love the slightly mis-matched earrings! Normally I wouldn't be a fan of that eyeshadow either, but this venue is about pulling out all of the stops and pushing envelopes, so in that respect it works.

Hi Susan! I was so glad to see someone pushing the envelope in a good and glamorous way. Ellie has such great skin and is so young that I think she totally pulled off the eyeshadow and the earrings. Thanks for stopping by, I love the re-design of your blog btw. It looks fabulous! xx

Ellie Bamber always delights with her incomparable taste. This applies not only her style of clothing but also the choice of jewelry. At this time the actress has surpassed herself.

That ring is stunning!!

When I saw the preview for this movie, it sounds like just a odd premise and it's one I will be passing too.

Thank you for being a part of TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you soon!
