Late Summer Nails, ICU Eyewear Giveaway (Last Call!), and Neon Reminder

I have temporarily given up my traditional red or pale nail in favor of these two colors that I am smitten with right now. I have been wearing navy and white pretty much since mid-July and I love the look of both of these shades against those neutrals.

Two-Fingered Salute by butter London is an amazing sage green with golden-pink microshimmer underneath. It’s very hard to photograph so I took a picture against a navy background and with a flash to give you an idea of the color. It is a gorgeous—and unexpected!—green.

Bachelorette Bash by Essie is a bright hot pink. There is no shimmer in it at all and it pairs so well with navy and white. If you want a brief break from red, this is the color for you!

Through the end of today you can still vote on your favorite pair of ICU Eyewear readers for a chance to win that pair! I won the pair of blue readers you can see on my sidebar but these also caught my eye.

This pair of ICU Eyewear readers goes especially well with the Essie polish!

Vote on your favorite pair of readers (they have the Dr. Dean line for men and Wink for women) and find out instantly whether you won them! If not, you get a 40% off coupon for a pair purchased from their website, good through October 1, 2013.

A necklace by Duchessa Jewels.

A reminder to all you neon foxes out there that Adrienne of The Rich Life (on a budget) and I are still accepting photos for “How I Wear My: Neon”. Send either of us a picture of your neon style by September 3, 2013. Let the Duchessa Jewels necklace above, which features Swarovski crystals in a neon pink setting, inspire you!

Thank you to ICU Eyewear for sponsoring this post.

That green shade is gorgeous and unusual. And you can't go wrong with that Esse pink.
Tippi is SO cute...makes me miss my tuxedo kitty.
I can't wait to see all the neon next month!

I love the pink nailpolish and I have a pink essie that's not bad either.
Green - I'm still hesitant, although I have started circling the cosmetic counters with dark green polishes... ;-)
Have a HAPPY week xo :-)

Hi Jill,
I love all of your tips. These colors look smashing. I'm mesmerized by the unusual shade and microshimmer of the first one. Gorgeous!! I did vote for my favorite eye glasses AND...AND...I met Adrienne in wine country last weekend. We had such a wonderful time. There will definitely be a neon post in the future.
xx, Heather

Hi Adrienne, I am loving the butter LONDON polish. It is really gorgeous, and a lot more pink in it than you'd think! Tippi is cute, but I am partial to her of course, being her cat mother and all, ha ha! Looking forward to neon! XO, Jill

Hiya HappyFace, you HAVE to try some green polish, I insist! You might like this butter LONDON, it's very subtle and not wild. If you go with a dark green, please tell me the brand and color name! XO, Jill

Hi Heather, I can see you wearing this shade of green too. I hope you won a set of readers! And I am SO jealous that you and Adrienne got to meet, I want to meet each one of you in person and I wish I could've been there for that particular get-together. Why do I always miss the good stuff?!? I can't wait to see pictures. XO, Jill

OK, you positively influenced me to go out & buy the Essie pink polish today. I've been looking for a "true" hot pink...with just the right amount of blue in it. Thanks for sharing!

Hi ColorFormTexture, you will NOT be disappointed with 'Bachelorette Bash' it is such a great shade, and yeah, a true hot pink. No shimmer in it either, which for me, makes it all the better. Two coats is perfect! XO, Jill

I really like that Butter London polish. I've never seen that one before. I'll have to keep my eye out for it. Thanks for the recommendation.

Jill, what is your honest opinion on the application and lasting power of the Butter polish? I hear mixed reviews, and the stuff is so expensive for polish, but I get soooo tempted by the edgy colors, the chic bottles, and the Anglophilia of it all! I would be using my 2-in-1 base and top coat.

Hi Gina, it's a gorgeous color. When you see it in person it will be hard to resist buying a bottle! XO, Jill

Hi Sarah! The application was pretty good, I have to say, pretty smooth going and I used two coats. I don't have a base or top coat on and I wish I did because it has been chipping at the edges, though it is still intact at the base of the nails. It has a lot of pink in it, and gold, and is so beautiful. I don't normally like green polishes but this one is quite unique. As for price, I'm with you, this is on the higher end for me. I ordered it from their website when they had it on sale for $10 but the shipping was $7! I ordered another bottle for a friend so thought of it as $3.50 for s/h for each bottle. Still, too steep! Then, wouldn't you know it, they had a free shipping offer about 3 days later! I say watch their site and get on their email list, maybe they will offer that deal again! If you get a bottle, let me know what you think of it, I can see you in this shade! XO, Jill
