The Duchess of Cambridge in Gray

The DoC in a gray Orla Kiely dress.

The Duchess of Cambridge so conveniently stepped out in this gray dress a couple of days ago at an engagement, just when I was looking for photos of ladies wearing gray! Thanks, Kate! The dress, with a pleated skirt and a bodice featuring black daisy appliqués, is by Orla Kiely, and I read over at Duchess Kate that she wore it before, back in 2012. Nothing I like better than a duchess with a daughter named Charlotte who wears her dresses more than once! The daisy appliqués almost remind me of military soutache, which I adore. I also like that Kate kept the makeup and accessories simple and wore pearl drop earrings and her trusty Cartier Ballon Bleu watch, which I am liking the look of more and more.

I love the swing of the pleated skirt.
I also like the black daisy appliqués in the bodice and the simple tie belt.
I really like that the appliqués go all the way around the neckline!
The pearl earrings are the perfect touch.

Let Kate’s gray dress be your friendly reminder that November’s “How I Wear My” is devoted to gray and there are so many shades of it to love! Share your looks in gray with us by sending a photo to by November 2, 2015.

Love The DoC! Perfect outfit for a day engagement....did you note how she added a little panache to that pull-back 'do to set off those pearl drops Jill? She obviously hangs on my every word as should you.

GSL is that you? Did you change your moniker? I must get to the bottom of this! I thought you liked your ladies NOT hanging on your every word and, in fact, a little feisty! I did like this look on the DoC though, so if she took her cue from something you said, take a bow, this outfit was a winner for me! Happy Halloween you bad boy. xx

Hi Pam! I really liked this look on her. It seems she is really being panned for some of her other outfits this week but I thought this was a home run! Happy Halloween Pam, I hope the little ones are still with you so you can enjoy them in their costumes! xx

Another great roundup! I so enjoyed seeing how all these fantastic women are wearing their grey and in all different shades. Malia reminded me just how wonderful grey mixed with pink can be really sparking some fun inspiration. And Suzanne's entire ensemble I would like to wear out this day, fantastic! Although I showed my form of heather grey, I , too, love charcoal and will continue to wear with all winter long. By the way, love the photo you took with the awesome artful background!
