Getting the Green Light

Louis Vuitton Saint Jacques bag in Borneo Green Epi leather. Photo by Yoogi’s Closet.

I am really into green all of a sudden. I love almost all shades of it, but I am especially loving emerald and Kelly green right now. It started with that gorgeous cover of Vogue Paris a couple of months ago, with Victoria Beckham wearing a green silk crêpe Lanvin dress and vintage emerald and diamond earrings by Bulgari. Then I recently spotted a Louis Vuitton Saint Jacques bag in Borneo Green, featured above, on the Yoogi’s Closet website, and fell instantly in love (don’t worry, I didn’t have an accident, it’s still for sale if you’re interested!).

Victoria & David Beckham on the cover of Vogue Paris, December 2013/January 2014.

I don’t have a lot of green clothes in my closet but I am going to pull out these green accessories to wear this month:

Wearing my green velveteen scarf. From How I Wear My: Green, March 2013.

My emerald green velveteen scarf with fringe. A street scarf classic, bought from a table of scarves in midtown Manhattan many years ago!

A Chanel pendant from 2003, a great eBay find!

My Chanel pendant that features deep apple green, with the tiniest flecks of gold.

Revlon Elusive, a dark, glittery and glamorous green.

My Revlon Elusive, which makes me think of a dark green sequined dress. For your nails.

Let me know your favorite shade of green, if you have one, and to all you Irish babes out there (even if you’re only Irish on March 17), Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Green is my favorite color. The scarf is lovely on you. I have mostly olive greens in my wardrobe, but have been hankering for something more toward the kelly.
Happy St. Pats! (You NY'ers really know how to celebrate it too...)

I do have a chartreuse green vest but nothing else in my wardrobe is green....love that pretty pendant.
Hope you have a fun St. Patricks Day.

I've been feeling the same way- green just feels fun and fresh- regardless that it was last year's color I'm still crushing on emerald!

I use green in my decor, but not on me. Not sure why because I have green eyes, but it's not my favorite to wear. I have one green sweater that I never wear!! But my kitchen and family room are all different shades of green and I love it there.
Love that Chanel pendant and the green polish (I have something like that in blue).
just remembered -- I put in a green "hair extension" the other day just for some pre-St. Patrick's Day fun!

Green is a rare color that is found in nature that is also sophisticated but healthy all at the same time. Apparently it makes the eye muscles relax! I have a green coat that I wear normally when it isn't in a box...but I have never tried green polish...but hope you have a belter of a st lady's day! Xx

Love these dark emerald shades - I've been really into mint for a long while now but these darker shades of green are really lovely, and under utilised in fashion - we should have more green definitely. Wonderful nail polish!

I love that scarf on you. So pretty. I like alll cool greens, but my favorite tends toward the bluish side. More teal green than Emerald. Love that polish. So fun.

Thanks for all the great comments! It's interesting to learn that green is so many people's favorite color. I think I am especially drawn to it right now because of the rough winter we have all had!

Donna, re nail polish colors, the dark green glittery polish is "Elusive" by Revlon, it might still be available at the drugstore, I got it at CVS. The other color, the red one, I think is Essie's "Limited Addiction." It's a great shade!
