Anna Got the Floral Memo

Anna Wintour in Chanel at the Met Gala, May 6, 2013. Photo by Jamie McCarthy.

Anna Wintour, Editor in Chief of Vogue, wore this lovely Chanel dress to the Met Gala earlier this month, held to celebrate the opening of the new exhibit PUNK: Chaos to Couture. And while she may have ignored the punk theme—although she claimed she wore pink because it’s punk—she definitely got the memo from Adrienne of The Rich Life (on a budget) and me that June’s “How I Wear My” is devoted to florals!

We would love to see how YOU wear florals, so please send a picture to Adrienne or me by June 3.

What do you think of Anna’s dress? To help you decide, I have included a few more pictures.

What say you to Anna’s dress? Yay or nay?

The dress is not punk-- she gave a bogus pink is punk answer. She obviously just didn't care about the theme. But, the dress is amazing anyway.

For me it was antipunk - it looks like an articulate remodeled apron from a 1950's housewife so perhaps she was being ironic. But she looks good in it and ultimately that is what a dress is about right?

She is so conservative, so it works for her. I like the back detail!

Hmmm, her dress doesn't do much for me but I am enthralled by her biceps. Anna's buff...who knew?

It's a yay from me but only just because I'm not keen on the cut out back. The shape suits her and I am so glad we didn't get to see her shoes (I dislike her addiction to those Manolo croco open toe sandals she seems to wear all the time).
Her daughter looks so beautiful!

I love it, especially the white around the edges! Its sweet but sophisticated and I think she looks great. My only criticism is that I think it would have looked better knee length.

I don't like the white band at the bottom, it looks like it was added afterwards to give it more length but otherwise it is perfect. Her daughter's choice was much more in keeping with the theme, though !

Yay from me; it's a beautiful dress and a lovely shape on her. Though I agree her answer was bogus and would love to see her take a big risk. The Met Gala (punk! yay!) is the perfect place to do so, and instead she played it fairly safe as always.

Talk about someone aging well...she always looks amazing...even in floral which I would have guessed she would avoid...I would have been wrong!

Are you kidding me - hippie chick sundress with short sleeved white teeshirt underneath ... right down to the white "ribbing" at the neck edge.
