Valentino Couture Keeps Getting Better

I love the glamorous drama of this look!

It’s miserably cold here in New York, so cold that you can’t stay outside for more than a few minutes, so thank God for the couture shows in Paris to give me something beautiful to look at while I’m stuck in the house! I think Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri, the Creative Directors at Valentino, have really hit their stride. Their designs are just getting better with every show and every January and July I can’t wait to see what Valentino Haute Couture has to offer.

If you have a few minutes you can explore this mid-winter loveliness yourself at either Style.com or watch the whole show at the Valentino website.

These were a few of my favorites. Enjoy!

Might we see this dress at the Oscars next month?

I can picture this at the Oscars too!

I love the scrollwork on this dress.

This ensemble is gorgeous when it moves, the sequins come to life!

I like the sheer jacket and the structure of the skirt. I never get tired of black and nude!

If you zoom on this dress at Style.com you will see how amazing the fabric is!

I want to wear this amazing cape dress on Valentine’s Day.

Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri take their bow.

Oh my Jill...you did an amazing job at selecting the best for us to see...the second and third dresses are for sure contenders for the Oscars...they are stunners.
Stay warm and safe!

Totally agree...DYING for the red cape dress! Though I do think they were influenced by Tom Ford's white cape dress (made famous by Gwyneth Paltrow).

Ooh, I like the scrollwork dress too, so lovely.

Was Skyping with my Mom in Ottawa today and they're getting the same nasty temperatures. Hopefully it won't last for long (the one thing about Canada I am emphatically not missing!).

So kind of you to ask after my Hermes scarf! Here's a link to the post I did on it with pics that you may need to cut and paste since I've just remembered links don't generally work in comment boxes!

To my opinion Valentino was - so far - the most stunning fashion collection from all those which were presented.

forgive me for being so bold but i have done a two part post of the Valentino exhibit in London at Somerset house and I went to a talk as well that I wrote about - I normally wouldn't do this but you seem to be quite a fashion expert so if you feel like it or have the time...
