IMPACT: Carolina Herrera

From IMPACT: 50 Years of the CFDA, now on view at The Museum at FIT, a white 2004 showstopper by Carolina Herrera. If I ever get invited to the charity ball I want to wear this.

I love the bodice, with its gentle draping and the wonderful curve at the top.

Impact: 50 Years of the CFDA is on view through April 17, 2012.

Seventh Avenue and 27th Street
New York NY 10001-5992

I totally agree with you Jill. Soooo elegant and soft. I would wear my hair about you? :-)

What a magnificent dress. I would love to get married in that! xo

It is an amazing dress, though I could never wear it, especially this time of the year--my skin is nearly as white as the cloth!

This exhibit looks like it is so stunning! I'd love to go view it - is that the dress that Renee Z wore?

Hi Pam, you'd laugh if you saw the way the security guard was looking at me when I moved in to get better pictures of the dress, and this with a room full of press, all taking pictures! XO, Jill

Hi Jeanne, I am so with you, this is a definitely a hair-up dress! XO, Jill

Hi Adrienne, I thought the same thing, somebody could get married in this beauty. It would be amazing. XO, Jill

Hi Terri, your comment made me laugh. I'm pretty pale by this time of year too! XO, Jill

Hi Sacramento, I wanted to make the pictures on my blog bigger for quite awhile but couldn't figure it out through Blogger's template dashboard or advice from some of my favorite bloggers. It just wasn't working. What helped was a search on Google. It made all the difference! XO, Jill

Hi Katherine, thanks for stopping by and thanks for joining my blog! If you get a chance, you should see this exhibit, it's wonderful. It's not a curatorially-driven show, so details on the pieces are limited to the designer and the year. FIT wanted to keep the focus on the different designers that make up the CFDA.

But you know, now that you mentioned it, maybe Renee did wear this! XO, Jill
